I'm having trouble with my nephew.? - Troubled Teenagers
| I'm having trouble with my nephew.? My nephew is 7. I have babysat for him since he was about 8 weeks. Generally I keep him 2 to 3 days a week. Well anyhow in the last year I have caught him lying several times about things he did or said. Anytime my kids, which are teenagers don't let him have his way, he goes home that evening and tells his mom and dad that my kids did something to him, like call him a name or hit him. Then I get a phone call fussing about my kids. My brother and sister in law don't want anyone punishing him but them, and think that my kids teach him every bad thing he does. I am at my wits end. I don't want to cause problems with my in laws, but how can I keep letting my kids get blamed for things they don't do? Should I just stop watching him altogether? |

Have you considered sending him to a wilderness camp? Serious problems need serious care and a wilderness camp is a proven way of making definite and lasting changes for him. I think it's the best option for your kid. |
| It is important that we do reach out to our kids. Because if we let them with their ways, then we must be prepared for the worst all the time. Parents or guardians really finds it hard to deal with the stuffs concerning their teens. But that is part of growing up, we also been in the same stage of life like these kids. So we must bear with them and help them up. |

Try talking to his parents. Tell them the truth so your in laws won't be in the dark anymore. We can't condone children with this behavior because it will get worst. He needs serious discipline. Maybe a summer boot camp could help. They do implement strict discipline where the child seriously needs. :D |
