Yahoo! Answers: Are there any specific verses in the Bible about forgiving onese I keep hearing people say it is important to forgive oneself and have healthy self-esteem, but I see no verses in the Bible to reflect that. I realize guilt and shame can be destructive, but they can also help one change one's behavior and see others as more important than oneself. What does the Bible have to say about forgiving oneself, if anything?
I am not that of a bible reader but I have to agree with what you had said about self esteem and forgiving yourself if you commit a mistake. I believe that before anybody can forgive you with your mistake, you have to first accept and admit your own mistake and try to forgive yourself. Later on you will realize that it is really good to love and to accept who you really are.
Committing a mistake is a serious problem for me. It is not easy to forgive those person who commits mistake, especially he or she does it to you. Before doing a certain mistake, you should know the consequences and the impact to you and to others. But I believe that there is a second chance for everyone. Forgive them once so they can start a new beginning, and forget that experience for you to start e new life.
I agree at times it is hard to forgive people who made a big mistake against us. But bear in mind that we are just humans, and we have our own imperfections. If we put something in shame, learn to face them and apologize. Take time to make things right. Do not be shy for making a mistake, because you still have chances to change and become a better person.
It is really not a norm for people to depend on bible or any writings or what so ever. It is really hard to forgive some, especially when that someone made something huge unto you. Well, it feels more lighter if you have no burdens in your heart, and it will be very good feeling to know that someone would be lighter when you render your forgive as well.
Forgiving is one way for use to move on. There are times in life which we can no longer take the situation. We tend to get mad at someone which gives burden in our heart. For me, you would feel much greater if you don't have an enemy to think of. Enjoy your life to the fullest. There are no rooms for fighting because there is more to life than that.
