    The Problem

The problem here I believe is that we are all trying to meet someone else's standards. Have you set your own standard to meet for happyness, sexual fulfilment, etc?

Do you make yourself happy? Who are you trying to make happy?

It seems that Dr Doug is happy because he doesn't have to make anyone else happy. Forget about improvement just be happy.

    Marty.

You are partly right, Marty, when you sat that there is happiness in pleasing yourself. But when we speak of pleasing ourselves is it a balanced mixture of immediate and delayed gratification. True happiness is found in developing yourself into all that you were meant to become in this life.

What have you accomplished with your life? How will history evaluate your works? What will you have contributed to the betterment of our world?

Some will read these words and ask questions like, "who care's" and "So what?" caused by feelings of being too old or tired to make any difference in the world. But that simply isn't true, we each have a lot to contribute to this world as we prepare for the next.

Each of our lives can have purpose and meaning-or a waste of valuable resources-the choice is yours. Just as we should keep physically fit, we should also develop emotional and spiritual matuity. So that our Spirit, Soul and Body unite to reflect the creations of God that each of been made.

Therefore, true happiness can be found in finding our true purpose and calling in life and pursing it for the rich pleasures it brings. Phyisical pleasure lasts for a short period of time (relatively), while the pleasures of the soul and spirit are eternal. Doesn't it make sense to develop your soul and spirit, as well as your body?

Happiness, Sometimes I wonder if I am really happy with my life. Content, yes maybe I am content for now but I do not know what will happen next, and I don't know if I will be happy then. But for now I would want to enjoy the opportunities, the blessings and the things that makes me happy. I do not know what tomorrow could bring but I know for a fact that somehow there would always be a way to be happy.
