Nephilims and Other Nonexistent Creatures

Some of you are too busy worrying about whether these creatures exist and whether they would affect you or not.

If you believe in them they will be. If you believe they will hurt you they will. If you believe you are safe you will be. You you believe they are only stories in a book, on the pages they will stay.

The underlying issue is not Nephilims but rather how to conquor your beliefs.

Hi, Alfi,

Good topic for speculation. Before replying to your message I did a little new research on Nephilim, or the "Sons of God" of married the daughers of men, thus causing both the birth of Giants, of which old legends are based, and, eventually the downfall of mankind through the flood. (Gen. 6)

The Nephilim may have been the sires of the Anakim, who were also giants, mentioned in Numbers 13 and Deut. 9. It is evident from Gen. 6 that the "Sons of God" created or at least hastened the destruction caused by the Flood that destroyed the world.

There are several Biblical references that these angels committed the sin of fornication with the daughters of men and for thise cause are now confined to hell, awaiting final judgement. (2Peter 2:4-6)

If you are suggesting these creatures never existed, you are certainly entitled to your opinions, and I would be happy to hear them. However, I do believe in angels, demons and of spiritual forces, both good and evil, that the mind of man has never imagined.

I don't understand your response about believing in the Nephilim and how that may protect a person from some type of harm. Could you elaborate, please. Also, if you have a website where I might gain more lnformation, you may feel free to post it here, and thanks for writing.

I can't believe that google shows 3020 websites for nephilims.

I think the harm one may get from nephilims would be the harm you would get from the belief in things that don't exist, ie: Santa Claus.

look at the books involving this subject

if the church was not concern about this it would not

of surpressed the information centuries ago.

It forces one to see the creation of humanity as us becoming like the angels eventually both good and evil.

Just look at all of the World Wars and how humans act to each other to see how much like better and worst angels.

Mighty Man

nephilim

(Gen. 6:4; Num. 13:33, R.V.), giants, the Hebrew word left untranslated by the Revisers, the name of one of the Canaanitish tribes. The Revisers have, however, translated the Hebrew gibborim, in Gen. 6:4, "mighty men."

Dr Doug,

This topic came up on my website as well. There was some discussion about the parts of the bible that were left out and hidden and how these texts also discuss the Nephilims. My response to this was that wheather a book is kept out of the Bible or put into the Bible doesn't necessarily give the text creedence...What gives it creedence and helps carry the belief through the generations is our faith. I think this holds true in all aspects of negativity as well as in all aspects of Love. The more power we give it and the more creedence we place upon it the more it can grow and manifest. Which can be either a Wonderful thing...Or a Horrible thing...

So those of us that place our faith in the exsistence of these creatures and their power to control us...may actually cause them to become a part of their intricite belief system and manifest within it. Maybe not exactly as these people have created in their minds (A fallen angel that looks like a human) but possibly in a more "physical realm" description. Something I call negativity! This can range from...family dysfunction to murder...ANYTHING negative that has been allowed to grow within your heart and take root. To me that is much more frightening than any "creature" that may be walking around on our planet.

Those of us who choose to place our faith in a higher power that has the ability to protect us from harm from ANY negativity and that symbolizes for us goodness and light...well, that is what WE will manifest into our belief system and that will grow accordingly!

So my final words on this are... ..DONT CREATE A NEPHILIM IN YOUR LIFE BY GIVING IT THE POWER OF YOUR BELIEFS!! :-) Allow light, love and Source (God, Allah, Jesus, Great Spirit...what ever name you give our creator) to fill your soul and eliminate the fear of such negativity from entering!!

Thanks Laurie for clarifing the question of the Nephilims in life today. I have also noticed a role playing game that seems to be popular about this subject that may have produced an increase in interest in the subject.

However, I would advise you and all my readers to stay away from seriously becoming involved in anything occult, such as:divination or an observer of divination, an enchanter or witch, a charmer or consultant with familiar spirits, a wizard or a necromancer.

When you understand what their definitions are as to what they do and realize that they can and often do the work of evil forces disguised as light and giving some hope but there is much deception down this path. Walk and the Creator's light and stay safe.

Dr Doug,

As you have probabley come to realize about me we have a difference of opinion on this matter. And I accept your warning with an open and loving heart and I thank you for it. However I have prayed and meditated endless hours about the abilities I have and the things I can see and hear....Each time I am shown that as long as I use what I know and experience for GOOD and that I shine the light of Source as I do it...I am safe and protected.

Of course we could debate this all day long...(BELIEVE me I have done it!) LOL...and it's a debate that will go on forever I think...so I respectfully agree to disagree and hope you will love me anyway!! :-)

Dr. Doug

You're right, Laurie, we can have our differences of opinion on many subjects, but our Creator's greatest commandment is to love.

#9

Laurie

Absolutely and if everyone would keep even just that ONE commandment...the world would be a better place and the small stuff would stay small :-)

Hi Laurie,

That's one thing we can agree on, who knows, could there be more? Our opinions, perceptions and beliefs are products or creations of our own minds and based on a list of things too long to mention here. What I am trying to say is that all we have to offer to the world is our own unique view of the world and that it is possible to view many things in life in multiple ways. That is why Love doesn't judge others but accepts them as they are and gives whatever perceptions might be helpful. The reciever of my perceptions might want to consider my words, but the decision whether to take my advice on not is always their own. I also recommend getting lots of opinions on critical issues. By the way, I enjoy reading your articles, even though I don't always totally agree. lol

#11

Laurie

Thank you Doug...I also enjoy your articles...and to be honest most of what I read I DO agree with!! Chrisitanity and my spiritual path are not that different...I bet...that the things you don't agree with...If I explained them to you..might be more agreeable! LOL

For example....And I am just making a guess here because you haven't shared with me what it is you disargree with...but lets just say "Reiki"...or energy healing. To most Christians it probabley seems like Science Fiction. Yet when you really study and learn how it works...It's not that strange. If someone comes to me and says they have a headache...I simply ask God to use me as a channel....and I pray...as I lay my hands on them...Not that much different than laying on of hands I've seen at church! :-)

I would NEVER practice anything that I didn't believe came from God or didn't use God energy...If learning Reiki meant that I would be claiming that the power of healing was caused by ME....I would run for the hills!! I strongly believe that there is a higher power and that if we ask we will be answered!! :-)

Hi Laurie,

Thanks for your response. It sounds like if we keep reading each others articles we can at least expand our awareness of alternative perspectives. I believe as a person increases their perspective of life and loving they become more open to learning and acceptance of life and all its changes. And it is in the sharing of different viewpoints that we enable each other to reach out to our Creator. lol

I've fallen and I can't get up.

#14

Hahhaahhaaha...I get it...A "fallen Angel"....cute very cute!

Dr. Doug

Hi Fallen Angel,

How have you fallen and what do you want me to do about it, or are you just having a little fun?

#16

Dr. Doug

Hi Laurie,

Please explain more about Reiki healing. I have spent a lifetime using the "laying on of hands" in prayer to bring about healing and miracles by the power of the Creator-not my own. In I Corinthians 12 & 13 there are a list of several spiritual gifts that believers have access to as the Creator chooses to use them. I have been fortunate enough to have been allowed to use many of these gifts repeatedly for many years. That says more about the Creator's love and grace than any abilities I may have, but I am interested in knowing more about your beliefs.

Just because I may not understand or share a particular spiritual belief does not mean that I am closed to an intelligent discussion of the subject, and agree to disagree as may be needed. On the other hand, new insights are always valuable and appreciated by me. Thanks.

I have also been an exorcist for over 40 years. My experience has taught me that there is true evil in this world but that evil can be conquered through love with the power of the Creator-or Source-of all life. Therefore, my earlier caution about keeping in the light and following the directions of your Source is mandatory for your protection and success, which you have apparently had and I trust will continue to succeed.

So, how does Reiki healing differ from the laying on of hands?

Laurie

Dr. Doug,

Sure I'd love to try and explain it....Reiki is pronounced ray-key and it is actually two words Rei which broadly translates to Universal and Ki which translates to life energy.

It was discoverd by a man named Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900's. Basically it is 'laying on of hands"...which as you know is no new idea! :-) Dr Usui just kind of developed a meathod and understanding of how he believed it worked.

We all have life energy flowing through our bodies...I'm sure everyone notices it from time to time. My favorite example for making people aware of it is this...Your having a wonderful day...feeling good...happy and positive. You drive to Walmart to pick up a few things..You drive in the parking lot...and you start to change. Your mood begins to deflate. You can't find a parking place...etc. Then you walk into the store and it's a typical walmart buisness day...Chaotic..But you go about your business and you leave...HOw do you feel? FOr me....there is something about a place like that that drains me. I never leave feeling the same way I did going in. That drained feeling is a depletion of your life force. You can notice it in many areas...When your life force is high you feel great...when it's low you don't and often times a lack of that life energy can lead to illnesses...emotional and physical.

Reiki teaches us how to refill that energy in ourselves and in others. Also how to channel it and use it for healing. Since the life energy is universal it doesn't come from us but from God...therfore it can only be good and helpful.

It doesn't even matter if someone doesn't believe in it...God's love will flow through regardless and have the same positive effect.

In the Book Reiki the Healing Touch by William Lee Rand he explains it better than I do!

HE says..."When a person receives a Reiki treatment, the energy assesses where the the person has blocks and then directs the healing energy, usually to the block that is nearest the hands. However sometimes it will go to the block that is most importan even if it is far from the hands. The Reiki energy then works with the negtive thoughts and feelings that are blocking one's natural flow of Ki and heals them as well. "

I know to many it sounds really nutty...but more and more it is beginning to be proven benifical. My chiropracter has a Reiki healer on staff...Some hospitals are beginning to accept them for easing the pain of the terminally ill.

I used Reiki in the last days of my fathers life...letting that God energy flow into him and ease his suffering. We were warned that his death might be ugly due to lung cancer. Yet he slipped peacefully away...and seemed to be very at ease.

I hope this answers some questions!! :-)....I hate that it's under this particular thread though! :-)

Dr. Doug

Thanks for the explanation, Laurie.

I have practiced the "Laying on of hands" with some amazing results for over 30 years-the work is not mine but I am simply the channel through which the Creator sometimes works to do His will. When I do this my focus is on the Creator and allowing myself to be open to His will. So that the act is almost a completely spiritual one.

It sounds to me that Reiki add the element of the soul (Gr. psyche, meaning mind, will and emotions) to the spiritual so that you are using both spiritual and soul energy to bring about healing.

Does it sound like I'm anywhere near close to the right idea?

Laurie

Yes very much so!! This is one of the reasons that I accepted and studied Reiki and eventually became a practioner of it.

Many energy healers claim that it is their great abilities that causes the healings to take place and when they practice they will make a very big deal about how drained they feel afterward...To me THAT is a bunch of ..well you know!

Reiki on the other hand is from Source. It's always done with an egoless intent and I will never feel drained or tired because it doesn't come from MY energy..but from Source's. (I will admit at times feeling bored as I wait for my hands to tell me when I can move on.) :-)

Also everytime I use Reiki I not only benifit the person recieving the Reiki but myself as well...As the energy moves through me from Source it is also healing me!

This is not a strange and whacky practice that I claim I can reach inside of you and pull out the aflicted organ and fix it...It's simply asking Source to allow me the privlidge of channeling his energy and helping others in the way he/she sees fit.

Let me ask you a question Dr. Doug...When you "Lay on hands" What do your hands feel like during those moments??

Dr. Doug

Hi Laurie,

Often times when I am used in healing through the "laying on of hands" my hands will feel warm, without being uncomfortable, and sometimes I will sense a flow of energy throughout my body but flowing down my arms and into my hands. In my "theology" I call this the power of the Holy Spirit or Creator, which is apparently the same as you call Source.

At other times there will be no feeling in my hands that I am aware of at the time. Although my religious beliefs have changed radically over the years since then, I was tutored, more or less, by men like Oral Roberts, whom my father worked for when I was a child. Many of the miraclous things performed through him by the Creator, has also been my personal experience.

I believe that there are two forces present in each of us (besides good and evil) and that is the soul and the spirit. If you have read any of my articles on this subject this will be redundant, but the soul consists of the mind, will and emotions. The word soul comes from the Greek word psyche from which we get psychologist and psychic phenomenon and research on both types of energy.

Spiritual energy is much different, both in effect and feeling. Spiritual energy is derived directly from the Source and only incidently uses the individual, which is what you described in the way Reiki works and yet there seems to be a great deal of soul control as well. Spiritual energy, for example, is demonstrated through prayer and meditation resulting in healings or miracles that may or may not involve direct contact with the patient and the channel being used for healing. Often prayers may be said over small pieces of cloth and sent to patients in distant locations, who, after wearing the cloth for a time, seem to recieve healing.

Some may ask if this isn't just so much "Mind over matter" and my response is, does it make a difference as long as the patient gets well?

Incidently, only spiritual energy will work when dealing with demonic forces and a person unfamiliar with the two different forces can easily make mistakes. Fortunately most people will never see nor hear of a demon but they are quite popular hear in Central America.

Dr. Doug,

Oral Roberts...How cool! My Uncle who has long ago passed away..was healed by Oral Roberts from alcoholism. He told the story of being drug to a revival by my aunt. He was drunk at the time and Oral Roberts came out into the crowd and approached my Uncle. He layed his hands on his heads and asked for healing. My Uncle never took another drink!! He went on to become a minister himself and worked had a mission on "Skid row" as he called it where he would preach to the homeless men and women and tell of his story of deliverance. (which by the way was the name of his mission) after which he would feed them a hot meal of beans and bread.

He died when I was 18 years old and I will never forget as long as I live the day that I arrived to the funeral. My aunt had chosen a funeral home close to the area of his mission but still a good two to three miles from it...and as I got out of the car and looked I saw a line of about a hundred homeless men and women..One was even on cruches..making thier way on foot to the funeral home to say goodbye..He was truly a special man with a great love for Oral Roberts!

What you described is exactly what I feel in my hands during a Reiki session. My hands will become warm and sometimes hot...they will tingle and sometimes I will feel nothing at all. That is usually my signal to move my hands to another part of their body. (by the way it isn't necessary to touch anyone when I do this and normally if I don't know them I will only hover my hands above the body.)

What you described with the cloth is also similar...I was given symbols that when I studied I memorized. I can use these two ways...one way is in doing distant healings...I pray and meditate and use these symbols to focus on...the energy is sent to the reciever in that manner as well. However to be honest I much prefer doing this kind of work one on one...at which time draw the symbols in my mind or in the air during the session...

Very interesting...thank you for sharing this with me!

Laurie
