Relationship with bipolar man - Relationships
Relationship with bipolar manHe did tell me that he has an add and I had no idea what add was. After some research I felt it was not that important. We have been dating for almost 16 months now and about 3 weeks ago he said -- you knew I had manic depression. Well, I did not and so I did research on the subject. Manic depression is called bipolar. And I am finding that most of description really fits in his behavior. But for as long as he is truthful with our relationsip I felt I can support and cope with his disorder. In a way I have been doing that already without knowing the disorder existed with him. But it seems he is hiding or not talking about his activities with another female(s). And it really hurted me and I have no heart to confront with him. I am in turmoil. I cried all day feeling like a failure. I love him dearly. He says he loves me too. Should this will pass or please help me. I feel so weak. What is his brain going through ?
#1Dana from the New World | "Hats off" to you for understanding and not leaving his side upon knowing his "condition" but like you said which I will quote: "...for as long as he is truthful with our relationship I felt I can support and cope with his disorder" Then why are doubting him this time? Do you think he is having an affair with other women? Why did you say this? Are the signs "that" obvious? He says he loves you but are you sure he says this in his "most" sincerest way? Hope you can answer this first before we can help you here. |
Why will he tell anything about his activities with other women? Are you his keeper? Are you so controlling that even talking to a mere old woman in the pedestrian lane would bring out a suspicion in you? come on now dear, he has a bipolar disorder not you or is this disorder contagious which means the more you stay longer with a person with the disorder the more likely you'll develop one also. ha!
I suggest you look for other guys out there. I think you are still young and beautiful. Enjoy life and meet up new people. You are just dating and haven't had any serious commitment like marriage. If he is seeing other women then what is stopping you from seeing other man. Manic depression, A.D.D. or not men would still be men. Like dogs scouring for fine women like us, ditch him and find and date other better guys.
Is this man your partner? If so, she does have EVERY right in the world to know about any activities with another female, and also there is sooooo much help out there for people with this disorder. He could go to counseling if its not that bad, and if you feel its at a level where counseling would not work, than there is so many medications out there that would help him and keep him in control of his disorder.
Let me tell you guys something...haha isnt every single man bipolar? haha I think they are like this because us woman have an "emotional" time of the month where we have an excuse to be mean, to vent, and to cry, and being that a man holds that all in, I think it causes them to be the way they are.
I agree there is sometimes help for this disorder. Someone in my life has bipolar disorder and he got some medication and it really seems to help. Along with the medication some consoling makes him seem like a brand new man.
Noah I congratulate you in successfully helping this person in your life who has bipolar disorder. Sometimes when some people struggle with this it is really hard to take control over. Sometimes the medications don't work and other times people are too stubborn to take the medications or go to counseling. Noah your extremely lucky.
That is good, I have heard a lot of cases where bipolar seems to be so impossible to treat. A friend of mine is in a relationship with a bipolar man and would always confront her with lots of things and she almost give up. Good thing that that someone in your life manages to get back on track despite the situation he is into. I just hope that everybody get well too.
