Psychotherapy for emotional distress - Psychology
| Psychotherapy for emotional distressIf you are suffering from anxiety, depression, marital distress or mental illness, you do not have to go it alone. There is help available for you. Over the twenty-nine years of my practice of psychology I have grown to appreciate the profound transformations that occur in people who have been willing to sincerely commit a season of their lives to being healed. Psychotherapy has played a central role in the process. Please go to my website to learn more about this. You can also arrange for an initial consultation there by filling out the "Getting Started" form and submitting it to me. My offices are located in Southern California. I look forward to hearing from you. |
| Dr. Reginald L. Veurink can you please post you website so I don't have to go through my problems alone? |
| My website is www.drveurink.com |
| Do you offer any classes anywhere where I or someone else could come in a talk to you by appointment. I feel that by talking to you face to face it will make things easier and also help me out with my depression. |
| Is there anyway I could have your e-mail address so that way I could e-mail you back and forth and be able to talk to you that way, I think it would be so able with me, that way I am not seeing you face to face and dont have to worry about you judging me. I would appreciate it very much. |

| Hi, I'm working in a very big and prestigious company, and I thought I'm living my dreams now. Only to find out later that the working environment in our department isn't as good as I was thinking before. My boss is very workaholic and I think, he is a perfectionist( in the real sense of the word). He's super paranoid and sometimes I think that he doesn't even believe in our capability as an individual. This is of course causing me a lot of stress and I'm thinking of resigning already. Please help me..thanks.What's the best thing to do? |
| "Clinical Psychologist"
Dear Miss Stressed Out, Unless something changes for you, it sounds like the job you have is not going to be a good work setting for the long haul. I would first go to the HR department of your company. Talk to them and get their input. It should be confidential. They may know of a lateral move that you can make within the company. They may also have helpful suggestions on how to improve the working relationship with your boss--especially how to establish realistic expectations regarding the work load. One suggestion I would make is to ask your boss to rank the tasks he gives you in terms priority. Focus on HIS priorities and keep him updated daily with e-mails. You may also inquire in the HR deptament about a referral to an EAP (Employee Assistance Provider) counselor for personal therapy. Most large companies participate in an EAP program of some sort. You should be able to get a confidential referral to a licensed therapist who can help you through this difficult time. The company will probably subsidize the costs. During theses tough economic times, it is very important that you do not terminate you employment without having another secure job offer in hand. Resist the temptation to react to your boss with those infamous words, "You can take this job and...". You best options will be found in seeking solutions WHILE EMPLOYED by a reputable company. I hope this was helpful to you. Sincerely -- Dr. Reginald Veurink, Clinical Psychologist |
