Yahoo! Answers: I really feel like dying?

Thank author of this post/commentI'm a writer and I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I can't afford a therapist right now until I get paid for some manuscripts although I used to see one. I've heard and read that writers have higher rates of suicide, I'm starting to wonder if this is true. I have no family I wish to talk to. They are all a bickering bunch, very dysfunctional and will only make me feel worse. Is there any type of free counseling I can find anywhere? I work for myself and I am not disabled though. I don't live off of food stamps or anything like that. I make enough to pay for my way, but not enough for $100 therapist sessions right now.

Thank author of this post/comment"Talk, Reach, Laugh"

I've been there and still go there from time to time, but it's temporary. Find someone who'll listen &/or give guidance. Friends, clergy, online chats, or try a local 12-step group. They are usually free or inexpensive (Codependents Anonymous, Depression Anonymous.....)

Give yourself some time to vent or cry and get it out and then do something to take your mind off of it - I find my mind will get stuck in a pattern unless I stop it. Get out and get some fresh air and exercise to take your mind away. Do something fun! Help someone else. Volunteer at an animal shelter or a church. Join Volunteers of America to assist the elderly with home projects. Write it out in a journal. Laugh! Watch movies that bring you up. Join a group on www.meetup.com. Goto www.youtube.com and listen to something that'll inspire you. I like to listen to abraham-hicks or joel osteen or beautiful meditative music of deva premal....whatever works for you. BE WELL! Don't stay stuck. Find the things that inspire you to shine. You're worth it. :)

You better give yourself a break. You don't really have to spend a lot just to see a therapist, though it is more advisable to do so. But anyway, you still have other options like meeting a friend, a teacher, or someone who you are comfortable of talking with. You still have better options so don't lose hope. Reach out with other people and I’m sure they are willing to uplift your emotions.

Same here. I also feel like dying. To think of all of the hardships I am having in this life I think it would be best that I would quit it all out. But well, at the end of the day, we will realize that escaping problems would never be a solution. And so, I decided to stand up, get moving and defy all odds that would come my way.

I really don't know what exactly you feel because I have never been in such pain. But as an optimistic person, I always make sure that my sight is at the bright side. Think of all the happy memories you have and always keep it in your heart. You are the only key to the solution to your problem. Don't let other factors to put you down. Be the factor that would pull you up and never let you fall.

    Hi there!

I think suicide is not the answer to your problem, other new writer also encountered that feeling of loneliness and emptiness but they are brave enough to surpass it all. I think you should seek for a spiritual guidance to other people that you think , can help you in that problem of yours.

Thank you so much and have a great day to all of you guys!
