'Bipolar Disorder -- You can be healed spiritually'

This posting is for all those who need to address the importance of repenting of sin in their lives and are serious about doing so. Speaking from one who suffered from the disease for almost 22 years, I finally discovered DELIVERANCE from this oppressive illness that stole so much time and livelihood away from me. How? I discovered that any "incurable" disease has a supernatural component to it that medications can only mask but not cure. This is true of bipolar disease with its ups and downs and sometimes delusional states that border on schizophrenia. You should know that this is the spiritual aspect of the disease which--if you are serious about your healing--needs addressing. This is where I repented of my sins and confessed the sins of past generations. These are ungodly vows and curses made by those before us that can have a detrimental effect on us spiritually. I experienced an amazing release from the disease’s stronghold in my life. I am serious though, this deliverance involves a seeking a relationship with the Messiah, Jesus Christ. He is the deliverer! I believe that bipolar disorder can only be treated with prescription medication. An herbal supplement might work for awhile but when it comes down to it, you need a prescription to keep it under control along with your own self control.

If your bipolar is the result of a chemical imbalance (ie: nutritional imbalance) then correcting that imbalance will correct the bipolar!

Do you actually think the brain can function properly when fed junk food? Do you think adding some prescription medications to that helps!?!?!?!? hahahaa

If you need prescription medicine to fix a problem or an imbalance that you have than how would it be considered feeding your brain junk food, if someone has a terminally ill disease, them taking their medications is considered feeding there brain junk food, and not fixing the disease or illness?

Medicine alone cannot fully fix these bipolar problems. It may help some of your body imbalances but in the your decision to help your self is the only solution to these.

I think its real sad when people have BPD and refuse to get any sort of treatment. Does anyone else agree or is it just me?

I also do agree that when people have BPD and refuse to get help it is sad. not only does it effect them, but it also effects people who are close to them to have to deal with their ups and downs. If you know you have BPD than you should get help for it, but if you do not know you have it, but think you might go to a doctor, you will than be much happier with yourself and also with your life.

I have been living with bipolar I for ten years. Last month, my niece, after being medicated for unipolar depression, experienced a full blown psychotic break and was also diagnosed bipolar I. She is 18 years old. I have been writing her letters to help her understand things.

Dear Jasmine, December 24, 2008

I’m sending you a note pad with this letter and hoping it will help you cope with and help you improve your depression. Even after you receive your new medication, it can take a while to get the levels perfected and such so please keep this notebook in your handbag for a while.

There is an evil snake you’ll need to be constantly on the watch for. He lives in a garden, well more of a swamp really, with a single apple tree. He has a fancy title but don’t be fooled, his name is Sir Illogical Neurogical.

Sir Illogical Neurogical is an analogy for the chemical condition of your mind when it is in the depressed state. One problem could be there may not enough dopamine being released from the hypothalamus part of your brain, or as I affectionately called it, the hypoputumus – because life can become a real jungle when that thing is out of whack. Or the tiny electrical impulses that are supposed to be flowing naturally through your brain get clogged up because the little gateways through which they travel, called synapses, aren’t working quite as they should. Just imagine that the electrical impulses are cars, but rather than a nice, smooth flow of traffic, you have a twenty car pile up because some of your synapses were “out of sinc” and snapped shut like unpredictabally mouse traps before they were supposed to. Thusly opening the door for the dreaded serpant to make his appearance; Sir. Illogicall Neurogical.

Sir Illogical Neurogical will play mind games with you and get you to completely believe things about yourself that are not true. The treacherous seeds he plants in your brain usually begin as small things but eventually, they get bigger and bigger. He can make you think you are ugly, fat, completely without talent or potential, unliked, unloved, unnecessary, a burden on your family, make you feel like you want to stay away from your family and your friends because you feel so down on yourself, make you believe you’ve never accomplished anything good in your life and when his venum is finally throughout your entire system, he convinces you that you are - nothing. At this stage, you are in danger of loosing your very soul, your very spiritual essence. Sir Illogical Neurogical will convince you of these things and no matter how much others may try to convince you otherwise, you instead will keep believing Sir Illogical Neurogical. He will win because proper brain hormoes, called neurohormones and lagging electrical impulses will push the scales in his favor every time. Make no mistake about it, Sir Illogical Neurogical is a very dangerous creature indeed and a threat to the safety of anyone whom he may be slithering around.

It took me a while to realize that anxiety is actually just another part of depression. This is because to many visits in the swamp with Sir Illogical Neurological can eventaully erode your self confidence which has to be rebuilt again. Anxiety is a fear response and it is generated in social situations where you feel you don’t have much to offer because a certain serpant has been stalking you entirely too much for entirely too long. Asking for help from family, friends and most importantly professionals should not be seen in any way as a lack of faith, a morale failure or a spiritual deficit.

There is a way to shine a bright flash of light onto Sir Illogical Neurological causing him to retreat into the shadows where he belongs. An important part of this is the little notebook you’ll keep in your handbag. Whenever Sir Illogical Neurogical strikes, begin writing down the dates and thoughts that occur to you. These are later shared with others like me who understand how to administer the antedote to his venom. Most importantly, these are shared with your doctor and therapist so that they may continue to move forward with your treatment, meaning getting the types of medications and the various levels correct. Otherwise, Sir Illogical Neurogical will win and steal your talents one by one as you slowly loose interest in them along with the will to participate in anything.

I’m going to look back through one of my notebooks for an example. “Pththththp.” Oh here’s a good one. I was struck pretty hard on this day. I wrote,

“I feel like a complete and total looser who doesn’t deserve to live.”

Now I bet you don’t appreciate your Aunt Karen feeling that way and I hope you’ll understand that it is the same for everyone else when you’ve been struck once again by Sir Illogical Neurogical. Of course I told my doctor about it and she adjusted my medication accordingly. “Busted out” once again by shining the bright light of truth, reality and science upon him, Sir Illogical Neurogical retreated back into the shadows where he belongs. You see, his bite is fierce. It not only affects you but it hurts everyone around you when you suffer. That’s why they say, “depression hurts everybody.” With proper medical attention and by enhancing your communication skills to assist you with working with your doctor, you can banish Sir Illogical Neurolgoical the Diabolical for good.

I made up a little song to help you remember what is really happening when Sir Logical Neurogical slinks near. I’m realizing now that you have had this a very long time, most liketly since you were a little girl. When your mind gets older and your thinking more complex, you find ever more creative ways of putting yourself down when Sir Illogical Neurogical draws near. These self defeating thoughts just keep circling around and around in your head and this process is known as “renumeration.” I’m hoping you’ll think of my “silly song” and it will help you to break the renumeration loop. Since I can’t write music, I’m using the tune to “Itsy Bitsy Spider, ” and it’s a bit of a tongue twister too….

A bright and talented girl stepped out the door to play

Sir Illogical Neurogical, he snatched her light away

He said come to my “garden” sit down and now you’ll stay

Cause Sir Illogical Neurogical is sneaky and mean that way

My ex-boyfriends sister had bipolar disorder, and it was terrible. I could not believe the things she put her family through, and also her daughter. It was so sad. She really was like two completely different people at times. Its definitely not something I would ever want someone close to me to suffer from.

I think Bi-Polar disorder is a spiritual sickness too. The ways of this world are unsatisfying and only through Christ are things better. That is why we, people with Bi-Polar disorder, are so unsatisfied.

Really, people with bi polar are unsatisfied, with what? And why do you think it is spiritual sickness. If bi polar disorder is a spiritual sickness, then why can't you just regain faith by joining in masses, go to church even once a week or just pray before and after you go to sleep. Just connect yourself with God, He is the best cure in any disease. Try it, there will be no harm.

Jesus healed me also. You must open the door for him and have complete faith. Bi Polar Disorder is like having one foot in hell. I suffered for ten years after my first diagnosis. I then began to realize the spiritual side of the whole thing. AMEN TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE. I have been off meds for 3 years. I have total faith that Jesus healed me. Well, going through everyone's post has made me realize bi polar disease is quite a serious disorder. Is it genetic in any case and what are the pre-disposing factors that make one in risk of suffering from the disease?

Karen, that is a really long letter..you must be a genius to come up with such a piece. I have heard of Schizophrenia and all the illusions that result from it. How similar are the two?

Bipolar is a spirit..It is a form of many spirits that get a hold of ones spirit..The church does not know anything about bipolar and DOES NOT WANT TO KNOW except stigmas and uncompassion when it comes to this illness...THAT IS THE TRUTH...And the so called false prophets never address the flock.......All they care about is appeasing their congregation while more people die from this illness!!!!!!!It says in God's word that "ALL THAT CAME TO JESUS AND BELIEVED WERE HEALED "!!!!!!!!!!! ALL!!! WHATS EXCLUDED?? NOTHING!!!!!!It does not say Jesus healed with lithium or depakote of halodol or elevil or prozak or dozens of other drugs that damage thee organs.. I used to take 1, 200 mgs of lithium and 300 mgs of serequel and now I am only on 300 mgs of lithium and am feeling healthier and am sleeping BECAUSE I am repenting and seeking God's word and applying it to my life...My two friends were severe bipolar and the Lord healed them and they are off all their meds and have been for years):

Everybody sees it from their own point of view. They used to burn witches at the stake, and anyone that disagreed with us too! It may be Balumba, or anybody. If they can cure you, fine! Go for it. Usually we are dealing with a medical issue that should be treated with medical means. Mental issues are particularly difficult because there are two big schools of thought, first one says that mental illnesses are due to throughts in our brains, or minds (same thing?), and the other says it´s all in our somatic self, our bodies, and should be treated chemically. I am sure that this issues will never be resolved. In the mean time bi-polar is causing tragedies in families and at work. Nice hearing from you all. Take care!

Nice hearing from you too..I agree everyone has their point of view and we have heard it from the sufferers themselves. I am not sure about the difference between the brain and the mind. I bet the mind is a bu-product of the brain.

I hold the view that since it is a medical condition, it is best to tackle it that way. Attributing it to religion is out of personal choice.

Hello my name is Dave and ive been bipolar since i was 37 i am now 50 years of age i dont take anything for the condition and i am in full time employment.i have worked for the same company for 32 years right upto the present day.Reading some of the posts i find it truly astonising and mind blowing that most of all bipolars thought at one time, they were jesus when they were in A altered state of mind. i do believe in a god of some sort but can, t help wondering if jesus was just a person who had bipolar who suffered with empathy and wanted to change the world and help others i feel the same emotions.

This seems like a really serious condition that blows your minds off. An altered state of mind is the worst thing that anybody can want to be in. The hallucinations and anything that result from any sort of medical condition are nothing to smile about. It would be in the best interest for someone to sek whatever kind of medication. All in all, I believe there is always a way out, right?

Spiritual healing had been long used, i do not know if this really works, but it is not that i am a non believer, i just think that everything has an explanation, and i seem to get no factual proof if this kind of healing really works.

But as they had always said, it is all in the mind, it is the power of our mind. When we put our mind to it then we are in to it.

I have been dianosed with bipoctionlar manic depression since 1991 and have been on some form of Lithium since 1991. I have other conditions and things got very bad in December of 2008.

Then I STARTED TO DO SOMETHING about it. I began eating organic foods and juicing with fruits and vegetables. Immediately I felt better- no more stomach pain and better sleeping at night. I took a college course`in`nutrition. The past two months I began to walk and swim more-everyday. And now I am fasting for the past week. I drink water and juice.

I have lost 5-6 pounds. I am not completely healed yet. I

REALIZE NOW that this is spiritual war. God has been trying to get my attention for many years to stop sinning in secret and

submit to Him. I have been ignoring Him and for Him to get my

attention he has allowed various afflictions. Now its time to face Him ask for complete forgivenss ane restoration.Amen

Congratulations Laurence Cohen, you have to thank God of course, for giving you the strength, will power and concentration to do that organic diet eating only fresh fruits and vegetables.

The healing could be obtained from God, yes i also believe in that, but you have to act first and help your self first so it would be much easy for the people around you to help you. Seek for God's guidance and you will be enlighten.

Bipolar disorders are still trying to fully be understood, though many believe that the methods used to cure the issue are sufficient, it still remains something of a mystery.

Spiritually being healed of a bipolar disorder seems like something that is a bit very much otherworldly.
