I know hypnotism is a form of alternative medicine, I am wondering if hypnotism helps anyone with there problems and is so what kind of problems would it help?

I disagree! Hypnotism is not a form of alternative medicine.

The human brain is subject to influences from the outside. Actually, to use the jargon of computers, the brain is programmed in many, infinite, ways by out lives, thoughts and feelings throughout life.

The brain is impressionable and open to manipulation. Hypnotism is a very powerful way of influencing the brain.

It is based on the establishement of regularities, such as a pendulum swinging back and forth.

Once the brain lets go of its awakened state and becomes pliable, certain repeated words may take control and lead to unforseen reactions.

It can help in bringing back repressed memories, etc.
